Samsung phones are in widespread and popular as Nokias these days and that success has come as a result of consistently producing sleek, good-looking handsets with mass appeal. But Samsung also wants a share of the iPhone action, it seems, and has made great efforts to produce one of its own.

In Omnia, like the HTC Touch Diamond, is based on Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and a Diamond it replaces large parts of Microsoft ugly and fiddly smartphone user interface with one of Samsung design in an attempt to provide iPhone style touch screen experience.

Physically, Samsung Omnia i900 is very similar to the iPhone 3G, much more than the Diamond, complete with a thin, candybar form factor, large screen dominates the front panel and minimalist controls. Compare phones side by side and find that dimensions are remarkably similar, too, that the Omnia is slightly slimmer, narrower and shorter than the iPhone 3G, 12,5 x 112 x 56.9 millimeters compared with 12 3 x 115.5 x 62 millimeters.

And how exactly stack to another location? Well, as you would expect from a modern Windows smartphone, Samsung Omnia has a pile of features and many of them seem to match or outstrip the equivalent of the iPhone 3G. He has a five-megapixel camera on the rear with LED flash and VGA video call camera on the front - of the iPhone three megapixels less and it will feature video chat. It also has HSDPA to 7.2Mb/sec, A 624MHz processor, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, A GPS receiver and FM radio. Plus it comes with a decent helping of storage - either 8GB or 16GB with microSD expansion as well.

Its screen, however, at 3.2 inches is not quite as spacious as a luxury iPhone and its 400 x 280 resolution is small. Samsung Omnia has also 3.5 millimeters socket for headphones and even conversion Dongle included in the box, we would rather not have to carry around an adapter just to listen to music and it seems unnecessary given the large luggage supervision that is available.

However, the Samsung Omnia's camera is the main highlight here.
